Aside from the 15 minute wait past our scheduled reservation time everything was great. The same thing happened to us at another Edmond restaurant two weeks ago. In both instances we were told the party holding the table had paid their check but were not leaving. I can understand not wanting to offend customers but isn’t that what is happening to the waiting party?

Two couples went to the Edmond location for lunch on a Saturday. We arrived at a.m. and it was fairly busy with most patrons having breakfast. By noon, only a few diners remained for lunch and it was not very busy by the time we left around p.m. We ordered our lunch (two hot roast beef sandwiches @$12 each, the coyote chicken sandwich and portobello mushroom sandwich @ $11 each, three diet cokes and a coffee). We also ordered one creme brulee and a piece of an unusual looking apple pie @ $6 each. Total bill: $ For those of you who haven't been to Cafe before, patrons order lunch at the main front counter and get their own drinks and servers bring the food to your table. There were several flies buzzing around the front counter including one that was inside the main case housing the desserts. A male employee standing behind the case was attempting to swat one of them with his dish towel. Nobody attempted to get the one that was flying around inside the dessert case. I want to primarily focus on the two hot roast beef sandwiches. The sandwich comes on a french roll with provolone cheese and a side of sour cream/horseradish sauce, au jus and some pasta salad. The pasta salad was okay. Not great, but not bad. It was what you'd expect to find at the deli counter at Uptown Grocery. The portion was adequate. Not huge, but not small. The sour cream/horseradish sauce was very thin sour cream with just a hint of horseradish. The au jus was completely flavorless. Arby's horsey sauce and au jus have much more flavor and you can actually taste the horseradish in their sauce. The hot roast beef sandwich was an adequate portion. The french bread was very good. It was, in fact, the best part of the sandwich. There was so little provolone cheese on the sandwiches that I actually had to look for it and discovered a narrow melted slice which didn't even span the width of the top roll let alone hang off the sides. In other words, the cheese portion was so small that it wasn't visible unless you searched for it. The roast beef itself was absolutely the driest roast beef I've ever eaten. In fact, it actually crumbled in certain places. It had a strong flavor (gamey) and was so dry we couldn't finish it. I really can't emphasize enough the dryness of the meat. I'm really not sure how they got the meat that dry. All I can say is that the almost identical French Dip & Swiss sandwich at Arby's costs just $ and it is vastly superior to the two we ordered. mynewextsetup.us Let's talk about the desserts. The creme brulee ($6) was not very good. It seemed to be fairly fresh, but the recipe just wasn't up to par. The apple pie ($6) was not very tasty either. There were three pieces of it in the case and one of them was broken in half. Perhaps the fly inside the case had been dining on it. The portions were rather small for each dessert given the price. However, what really caught my eye were the individual pieces of carrot cake which were wrapped in plastic wrap. These slices had cream cheese icing and were average sized slices about 3/4 inch thick. They were priced at $6 apiece. We estimated that, given the size of the slices at those prices, an entire carrot cake would cost about $ These were not gigantic Cheesecake Factory sized slices costing $6 apiece where the price is justified. These carrot cake slices were small to average sized portions which were just tremendously overpriced. A thin, small brownie triangle with a powdered sugar dusting was priced at $ They are obviously proud of their desserts. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was just offputting seeing the flies in the restaurant (and inside the dessert case) and watching the employee trying to swat them at the main counter while we ordered our food. Nevertheless, everybody working there was very nice. Needless to say, we were very disappointed in the food itself and thought it was overpriced and not very good. We won't be returning.

My mom, daughter and I went for our September birthday celebration tonight. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. We started with the artichoke dip appetizer. It came with a salsa, sour cream, and chips. It was very tasty and the perfect amount for an appetizer. My mom and I both got pizzas, a margarita pizza and a pepperoni pizza. Single serving size was perfect. They both were very good. My daughter got the wedge salad and black bean chili. The salad was tasty but the chili left something to be desired. It was rather bland only tasting like plain black beans. She was rather disappointed. She ended up sharing some of our pizza. We then had dessert to celebrate our birthdays. Creme Brûlée and an ice cream brownie dessert. Those did not disappoint. We all left happy and full. Cafe is a great addition to the Edmond restaurant scene and a place we will frequent for our girl only evenings.

Went to Cafe for my 50th birthday. Main reason I went was they have creme brulee. Not going to say I'm sorry I went, but I won't be back. I ordered the filet mignon, medium rare. When it came, I cut into it and asked the person who brought it out if it was considered med. rare (it was med well in my opinion). He said it was not, apologized and said he would get me another. The second one came and honestly was worst than the first. I gave up, when he dropped the plate off and walked away. My mother-in-law could barely eat her meal and my son's pasta was so spicy he could barely eat it. Worst of all service was between not so good to bad. It took 20 minutes for our server (Colin) to bring our desserts (by this time, we were timing him), 30 minutes for our meals to arrive, another 15 minutes to get the check after I asked for it. We had to flag Colin down to get refills on our soda, tea and water for cryign out loud. Then, (of course) there was a mistake on the check, 10 minutes later I caught the server's attention so I could point it out to him then got to wait another 10 minutes while he corrected the check. On the positive side the crab appetizer was great and my wife loved the hummus app as well. For an average of $40 per person, we won't be back.

When began, Holloway was reeling from a cruel prognosis: stage four cancer. A few months later, he and his family met the challenge of keeping their cadre of restaurants operating through the pandemic. However, necessary travels to Houston for treatment and life in the restaurant industry left him more exposed to the coronavirus. In December he was hospitalized with it and pneumonia.
"Our industry has lost another icon with the passing of Peter Holloway. Peter, along with his wife Sheree, built one of the best known restaurant companies in Oklahoma," said Jim Hopper, chief executive officer of the Oklahoma Restaurant Association. "Pete served as past chairman 501 restaurant edmond ok the association in and shared his wisdom for many years as chairman of the government affairs committee. We will miss his wise and quiet counsel. Our hearts are broken."
Holloway's career dates to the s when he was a student at the University of Oklahoma and began waiting tables. It was a job at The Hungry Peddler that derailed his plan to become a psychologist.
The Hungry Peddler was part of the Val Gene Associates portfolio of restaurants. Principles Jim Vallion and Gene Smelser brought Holloway along so well they eventually made him director of operations and managing partner when they opened the original Pepperoni 501 restaurant edmond ok in
InHolloway and his wife Sheree went it alone with the opening of Cafe in Edmond. The restaurant was an instant hit and still flourishes at the corner of Boulevard and 5th in Edmond. A second location opened in Classen Curve in and also continues to flourish.
Holloway Restaurant Group also boasts Edmond properties Boulevard Steakhouse and Sparrow Modern Italian. The Martini Bar, Park House and Ice House are concepts from its past.
"He always challenged us to think outside the box. Conventional was not in his wheelhouse," said David Egan of Cattlemen's Steakhouse. "His high standards motivated all of us to do better."
Holloway was known for his immaculate wine palate and a sense of hospitality as effortless as it was boundless.
"Pete was the consummate host. Caring. Attentive. Experienced. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and patrons," said Edmond Wine Shop's Vance Gregory. "In our market, Pete did so much to promote so many wineries and winemakers who consequently became his close friends. So sorry to lose this guy."
Posted Alex Kroblin, owner of Thirst Wine Merchants, on social media about Holloway: "Lived for family. Loyal to friends. Generous to strangers. Passionate for life. The embodiment of hospitality."
Holloway's daughter Alex posted on social media: "I know there are so many people and lives Dad touched, the impact he had on the restaurant and hospitality industry will forever be remembered. He truly was the wayfair cc login of hospitality and a true gentleman. In honor of him, pour a glass of champagne and celebrate his incredible life."

"He always challenged us to think outside the box. Conventional was not in his wheelhouse," said David Egan of Cattlemen's Steakhouse. "His high standards motivated all of us to do better."
Holloway was known for his immaculate wine palate and a sense of hospitality as effortless as it was boundless.
"Pete was the consummate host. Caring. Attentive. Experienced. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and patrons," said Edmond Wine Shop's Vance Gregory. "In our market, Pete did so much to promote so many wineries and winemakers who consequently became his close friends. So sorry to lose this guy."
Posted Alex Kroblin, owner of Thirst Wine Merchants, on social media about Holloway: "Lived for family. Loyal to friends. Generous to strangers. Passionate for life. The embodiment of hospitality."
Holloway's daughter Alex posted on social media: "I know there are so many people and lives Dad touched, the impact he had on the restaurant and hospitality industry will forever be remembered. He truly was the epitome of hospitality and a true gentleman. In honor of him, pour a glass of champagne and celebrate his incredible life."
Holloway is also survived by his brother Bill, sisters Susan Grisso and Margaret Holloway; wife Sheree, and sons Andrew, Jeffrey and Hirst. Memorial services have not yet been announced.
