Wells Fargo no longer offers private student loans or student loan consolidation.

Wells Fargo has exited the student loan business. Our private student loans are being transitioned beaver lake oklahoma a new loan holder and repayment will be managed by a new loan servicer, Firstmark Services, a division of Nelnet.

For assistance with transferred loans:

Avoid processing delays: If you have been notified that your student loan has transferred to Firstmark Services, please ensure that payments are sent directly to the Firstmark Services payment address using your new account number. Wells Fargo will only forward misdirected payments for the period defined in your transfer communications. After that period has passed, misdirected payments will be returned.

Tax Information:If you have been notified that your student loan has transferred, your student loan interest information is available at Firstmark Services. Primary borrowers who made qualifying payments in 2021 may receive an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 1098-E from both Wells Fargo and Firstmark Services. The Wells Fargo 1098-E will be issued by January 31, 2022. More details are available below.

If you’ve been notified that your student loan has transferred, your student loan will no longer appear on Wells Fargo Online. If your student loan is your only account with Wells Fargo, you will no longer have access to Well Fargo Online after this transfer is complete. Visit Firstmark Services or call 1-833-531-1307 for instructions on how to set up online access using your new account number.

Please also note that if your Wells Fargo student loan has a zero balance, your student loan will no longer appear on Wells Fargo Online. If this zero balance student loan is your only account with Wells Fargo, you will no longer have access to Well Fargo Online.

For student loans that have transferred to Firstmark Services, your student loan interest information for chase bank business promotions (and all previous tax years) is available at Firstmark Services or by calling 1-833-531-1307.

Student loan interest is interest and eligible fees you paid during the year on a qualified student loan. It includes both required and voluntary interest payments. Keep in mind that you do not need an actual Form 1098-E to claim the amount paid on your taxes. If you are the primary borrower and made qualifying payments in 2021, Wells Fargo will mail you an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 1098-E for the portion of 2021 in which your loan was serviced by Wells Fargo Education Financial Services.

Note that for cosigned student loans, cosigners will not receive the Form 1098-E.

The 1098-E from Wells Fargo will be issued by January 31, 2022. For loans that have transferred to Firstmark Services for servicing, Firstmark Services will also provide you with an IRS Form 1098-E for any qualifying payments received during the remainder of 2021.

Please note that while the IRS only requires 1098-E forms be provided if you have paid at least $600 in eligible interest, Wells Fargo generates 1098-E forms for customers who have paid at least $100 in eligible interest due to customer demand. If you did not pay at least $100.00 in eligible interest and fees during the tax year, you will not automatically receive a form 1098-E from Wells Fargo through the mail, even if you received one last year.

Government Stimulus Updates

As part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the federal government is providing stimulus payments to eligible recipients.

Please note: Eligibility criteria outlined in the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 differs from prior rounds of stimulus payments. Wells Fargo does not have the ability to determine whether you qualify. Your eligibility is determined by the government. To learn more about eligibility and payment amounts, visit IRS.gov/coronavirus.

If you’re eligible to receive a payment, you will receive the funds in one of these ways:

  • By direct deposit into the bank account reflected or reported on your 2020 tax return. If you have not call wells fargo customer service please your 2020 tax return, the payment will be deposited into the same account used when you filed your 2019 tax return.
  • By paper check If you did not file a tax return or have not given the IRS your direct deposit account information in the last two years, you may receive a US Treasury check.

Customers are able to use this card like a debit card or transfer funds from their Economic Impact Payment (EIP) card to their bank account from the Eipcard.com website, from the Money Network Mobile App, or by calling 1-800-240-8100.

Once the IRS begins to distribute payments, the IRS's Get MY Payment tool will be updated to reflect direct deposit or mailed payment date. The IRS is expected to update the payment status regularly.

Wells Fargo has processed all of the direct deposits we received from the IRS and U.S. Treasury for stimulus payments to date. If the payments are received for closed accounts or accounts with invalid account numbers, those stimulus payments are returned to the U.S. Treasury. The IRS’s Get My Payment tool will be updated to reflect direct deposit or mailed payment date. The IRS is expected to update the payment status regularly.

The U.S. Treasury has indicated that payments will be distributed in multiple phases and could take several weeks to distribute, so not everyone will receive payments at the same time.

We will provide more detail on direct deposit, check and prepaid card delivery once the U.S. Treasury provides further guidance.

You can check on the status of your stimulus payment using the IRS’s Get My Payment tool.

If you have not received your stimulus payment or have questions about these payments, please check the IRS’s website for updated information.

Please note that Wells Fargo branch and call center staff do not have access to any additional information regarding if or when customers will receive a check or prepaid debit card.

If you’re eligible for a payment, and the account the U.S. Treasury directed your payment to was closed prior to the date the funds were received, Wells Fargo has returned the funds to the U.S. Treasury and they may redirect funds to you via check to the address they have on file for you.

The method and timing of payment is dependent on the U.S. Treasury, and other options for delivery of these funds have not been provided. According to the IRS, the Get My Payment tool will be updated to reflect the date your payment will be mailed. Once a payment is mailed, the IRS reports it may take up to 14 days for you to receive it.

Wells Fargo customers can make a mobile deposit2 using the Wells Fargo Mobile® app or make a deposit at an ATM. Keep in mind, mobile deposits are subject to daily and 30-day rolling mobile deposit limits.

Because of higher stimulus payment amounts expected under the American Rescue Plan Act, some checks may exceed your mobile deposit limits. To check your daily and 30-day rolling mobile deposit limits for each eligible consumer and business account

  1. Sign onto the Wells Fargo Mobile® app
  2. Select Deposit from the bottom menu
  3. See your mobile deposit limits in two places: When you select a Deposit To account and on the Enter Amount screen

If you are unable to use mobile deposit, you may still visit a Wells Fargo ATM to deposit your check.

In most cases, deposited stimulus funds are available right away, up to $2500. Immediate availability of funds is subject to change at any time, without advance notice. Check your ATM receipt or mobile deposit confirmation screen to see when you will have access to your deposit.

Some customers may be eligible for a Recovery Rebate Credit if they did not receive any Economic Impact Payments or got less than the full amount they were eligible for in the previous two rounds of stimulus payments. Beware of scammers impersonating a government agency or your bank. They may contact you to confirm your personal or financial information in order to receive or expedite your stimulus payment.

To avoid these scams:

  • Don’t respond to an unsolicited phone call, text, email, or social media post requesting your Social Security, bank account, or credit card number.
  • Don’t pay anyone who claims they can help you apply for a payment or get your money faster.
  • Don’t pay an upfront fee to receive a stimulus payment.
