It's excellent, packed with technology

I have done a review of the chase app over a year ago and had a lot to gripe about. I hated the fact that you had to accept quickpays. I also hated the fact that you needed to login to conduct transactions after you used your finger print to get into your app. Both of these annoyances have been fixed with this update. I absolutely love the way chase deducts the money for Bill pays right on the spot. It makes your balances so much easier to manage. I love the freshness and the high-tech feel of the app. One area for improvement would be to allow a direct dialed phone call to a representative right from the app having already completed the authentication process. Also, allow the app to show images of all transactions, including deposits just like BOA does. Other than those 2, the app is perfect.
Update. I also love managing my brokerage account right through the app with the ability to move money quickly between my brokerage and checking account. This app is really the best of the best in the banking world.

Mortgage experience and mobile experience stink

I was a chase credit card customer and the app was always fine for what I needed. We’re currently going through the home loan process and your app is embarrassingly terrible. I can’t believe such a large bank has an app that can’t render on an iPhone. For two or three weeks we had someone listed in the app as part of our loan team and it wasn’t the correct rep. We kept reaching out to him with no response, come to find out that we got put with a different rep but the app doesn’t update that detail into the loan moves into a new status. What?! The screens are all tiny and you can’t zoom in!! You can’t download the documents from your phone either. You also can’t go into the mortgage portal and open a document and try to go back and do something. The app signs you out instantly. The reps even mentioned how terrible it was. Anytime I use the app to look for tasks I have to close the app and re log in multiple times. The message your team function is completely useless. Our rep told us she doesn’t get a notice when we message through that method and to email her instead. Why the heck even put it there?! We also have been asked repeatedly to upload the same information over and over. According to the rep, they have tons of issues seeing our documents and they get “lost”. How reassuring. It’s only the biggest purchase I’ve ever made and all of my personal information. Y’all need to fix these issues. This app is bad.

Terrible Customer Service and App

First of all I rarely leave negative reviews, if my experience is less than satisfactory I will simply choose to leave no review rather than a negative one. That said the Chase bank as well as their app left me little choice. Let’s start with the app. For weeks I could not even use it because every time I tried signing in it would crash forcing me to use a cumbersome web browser for my mobile banking. Once the app started working (about a month and several updates later) I found it to have way less features and to be much less organized than any other banking app I have used. This alone was disappointing however their customer service is even worse which I find quite disturbing for an organization that handles ones finances. They seem to know very little of what they are doing as they misplaced several important documents that I had faxed them directly from a bank branch claiming they had not received them forcing me to spend hours sending them though several different formats. After this I call back only talk to a different representative to find out they had received the fax a week ago when I had sent it originally. This alone was very frustrating but to make it worse customer service was very unfriendly and unhelpful which I found quite unprofessional for a banking institution. Sadly from my experience I would not recommend this app nor chase bank itself. Sorry

When I first met Sam and Gina, they had this dream that they wanted to accomplish.

When we first signed our lease on this building, people were questioning it, like "you sure you want to open a brewery on the south side of Bethlehem in the current climate?"

We were certain that it was ready for what we wanted to do.

We needed a bit of help to get this place openedand everybody needs help.

When anybody ever comes to us and says, "We need help. What can we do? We don't know how to get through this red tape."

We say, "This is what we did. This might help you."

We even went to City Hall for someone once.

This is the community we can change.

What we can change is right here and right now.

Sam and Gina are very passionate about working with women entrepreneurs.

It's hard to start a business.

One thing Sam and Gina have been able to achieve is share the lessons they've learned with other business owners and convince them, "hey, it actually is possible."

Spot the Scam: 5 SMS & 2 Email Scams of the Week (AT&T, Chase Bank, Scotiabank, Amazon, and More!)

This week&#;s top scams include 5 SMS phishing and 2 email scams. Can you spot these scams?

SMS Phishing


SMS phishing is one of scammers’ favorite tactics that they use to try to exploit you. They impersonate famous brands, companies, and organizations and send out text messages containing phishing links. They try to entice you into opening the malicious links by using various excuses such as telling you there’s an issue with your delivery, or your online account has some security issues, or even that you’ve won an award! Although these are just to name a few – the scammers can be quite creative!

So, where do the phishing links lead to?

  • Fake online survey pages
    In some cases, they lead to online survey pages that say you can claim a gift by completing an online questionnaire.

After you fill out the survey, you are prompted to enter lots of personal information like credit card numbers before your gift can be delivered. Scammers can record any sensitive information you enter on their survey pages and use the data to commit further cybercrimes. For example, they could take control of your bank account, transfer all your money out, and even use your information to commit identity theft!

  • Fake login pages
    In other instances, the links lead to fake login pages impersonating brands.

    These pages require you to submit login credentials to view your delivery status, change your settings, or whatever other reason the scammers have given you. Again, the sensitive information you enter will end up in the scammers’ hands, and they can use it to hack into your account. Don’t let them!

    Here are the top SMS phishing scams we observed this week, including AT&T, Chase Bank, Scotiabank, Royal Bank, Maryland Unemployment Insurance, and Amazon.

1. AT&T


Scammers have been posing as AT&T and saying that they are giving away cash, luring you into claiming your reward via the phishing link. Or, they say you’ve been overcharged and that you can claim reimbursement by clicking on the link:

  • ATT is giving you dollars as a thank you for your business but you must claim it by today <URL>
  • ATT UPDATE ID# Your refund process was unsuccessful. we overcharged you for $, the last 9 months. Please Claim full refund: <URL>

2. False Alerts from Banks


Impersonating banks, scammers have been sending false security alerts out telling people their accounts have had unknown login attempts, suspicious activity, or even that they’ve been locked. Then they ask people to click on the phishing links in the messages to re-activate their bank accounts. However, the links in fact lead to a fake bank login page.

Received any delivery messages that prompt you to click on links? Be careful! Scammers love to pose as delivery companies and send you messages, saying that there are problems with the delivery of your package:

4. Maryland Unemployment Insurance


Many people have become more reliant on unemployment insurance ever since COVID struck. We’ve reported on unemployment insurance phishing text messages several times recently, but this week’s ones that appeared to come from the Maryland Department of Labor went viral:

Scammers were falsely claiming that there were issues with people’s unemployment insurance accounts and that they needed to complete verification via the phishing link attached in the SMS. The included link leads to a fake Maryland Department of Labor login page:

5. Amazon

Fake Amazon SMS messages have been the top tactic scammers have used to exploit people for a long time. However, we’ve detected some new excuses scammers have made up to try to get you to click on the phishing links in their messages, including false account alerts, Amazon Loyalty Program fake rewards, and fake free vouchers and coupons:

Email Scams


Besides SMS phishing, scammers also use emails to try to trick you. Email scams unfold in several ways:

1. Blackmail/Sextortion email scams


Scammers falsely claim that your device is infected with malware and they’ve been able to spy on you, and they urge you to pay a certain amount of money or else they will publish the (non-existent) revealing photos or videos of you.

They may threaten you in different ways, too. For example, they may throw out terms like malware, spyware, Trojan virus, or they may say that your device is hacked, or that your webcam has been compromised. Here is an example:

2. Fake Charities


Scammers try to take advantage of your kindness for their own good by sending fake charity emails, inviting you to support those in need by donating money or bitcoins. For example, we saw this email that urges people to support residents who suffered from the Haiti earthquake:

In this case, scammers ask you to send bitcoins to a specific bitcoin wallet. It’s a SCAM! No money will ever reach anyone in Haiti! It’ll all chase bank customer support email up in the scammers’ pockets.

How to Protect Yourself

  • Double-check the sender’s mobile number/email address.
  • Reach out to the official website or customer support directly for help if you think there are issues with your account.
  • Emails with cryptocurrency mentioned are a major red flag. Just ignore and delete them.

Chase Bank Phish Swims Past Exchange Email Protections

Threat actors are impersonating Chase Bank in two phishing attacks that can slip past Microsoft Exchange security protections in an aim to steal credentials from victims &#; by spoofing real-life customer scenarios.

Researchers from Armorblox recently discovered the attacks, one of which claims to contain a credit card statement, while the other informs users that their online account access has been restricted due to unusual login activity, according to a post on the Armorblox blog posted Tuesday.

The first set of emails went out to 9, inboxes in an Armorblox customer&#;s environment and the other reached 8, Preet Kumar, senior manager of customer success at Armorblox, wrote in the post.

Both attacks managed to bypass two Microsoft Exchange security protections&#;Exchange Online Protection (EOP) and Microsoft Defender for Office (MSDO)&#;on their way to green dot customer service live person phone number inboxes, she said.

&#;These email attacks employed a gamut of techniques to get past traditional email security filters and pass the eye tests of unsuspecting end users,&#; Kumar wrote.

In the first scenario, threat actors sent an email titled &#;Your Credit Card Statement Is Ready&#; with the sender name &#;JP Morgan Chase&#; with HTML stylings similar to genuine emails sent from Chase, according to the report. The email included links for the victim to see their statement and make payments.

&#;Microsoft assigned a Spam Confidence Level (SCL) of &#;-1&#; to the email, which meant it skipped spam filtering because Microsoft determined that the email was from a safe sender, to a safe recipient, or was from an email source server on the &#;IP Allow&#; list,&#; Kumar wrote in the report.

The links take potential victims to a phishing page that resembles the Chase login portal and asks for their banking account credentials, she said. Researchers surmised that the URL for the page was likely purchased and hosted using NameSilo, which provides hosting, email and SSL solutions to customers.

&#;Services like this are beneficial for millions of people around the world, but unfortunately also lower the bar for cybercriminals looking to launch successful phishing attacks,&#; Kumar observed.

Chase Customer Care Scam

The other phishing attack begins with an email titled &#;URGENT: Unusual sign-in activity&#; and claimed that the sender was  &#;Chase Bank Customer Care,&#; Kumar said.

The email included a link that claimed to be for customers to verify their account to restore access and used a common tactic by scammers to use different &#;from&#; and &#;reply-to&#; addresses.

As with the other email, clicking on the link would lead to a phishing page that would try to how to check my credit score with chase users to type in their credentials, according to the post. However, in this case, the page already was inactive by the time researchers investigated the campaign, they said.

The account-verification email also eluded Exchange detections and was deemed safe with a &#;1&#; rating on the Spam Confidence Level, Kumar noted.

How to Spot Phishing Emails

However, there are some clear telltale signs that both emails are suspicious if receivers of such messages know what to look out for, researchers said, outlining them in the post.

They include the aforementioned use of different &#;reply-to&#; and &#;from&#; addresses; the use of a chase bank customer support email that looks like it&#;s legitimately from Chase but with a URL that does not match the company&#;s website name; and a security theme that requires someone to fill in private security details by taking secondary action, they said.

&#;Since we get so many emails from service providers, our brains have been trained to quickly execute on their requested actions,&#; Kumar wrote. &#;It&#;s much easier said than done, but engage with these emails in a rational and methodical manner whenever possible.&#;

The attacks are not the first time Chase customers have been targeted in phishing attacks, and it likely won&#;t be the last. The bank was one of several&#;including Royal Bank of Canada and TD Bank&#;targeted in an SMS chase bank customer support email campaign revealed in February that used bogus security text messages to target users of online banking apps.

It's excellent, packed with technology

I have done a review of the chase app over a year ago and had a lot to gripe about. I hated the fact that you had to accept quickpays. I also hated the fact that you needed to login to conduct transactions after you used your finger print to get into your app. Both of these annoyances have been fixed with this update. I absolutely love the way chase deducts the money for Bill pays right on the spot. It makes your balances so much easier to manage. I love the freshness and the high-tech feel of the app. One area for improvement would be to allow a direct dialed phone call to a representative right from the app having already completed the authentication process. Also, allow the app to show images of all transactions, including deposits just like BOA does. Other than those 2, the app is perfect.
Update. I also love managing my brokerage account right through the app with the ability to move money quickly between my brokerage and checking account. This app is really the best of the best in the banking world.

Mortgage experience and mobile experience stink

I was a chase credit card customer and the app was always fine for what I needed. We’re currently going through the home loan process and your app is embarrassingly terrible. I can’t believe such a large bank has an app that can’t render on an iPhone. For two or three weeks we had someone listed in the app as part of our loan team and it wasn’t the correct rep. We kept reaching out to him with no response, chase bank customer support email to find out that we got put with a different rep but the app doesn’t update that detail into the loan moves into a new status. What?! The screens are all tiny and you can’t zoom in!! You can’t download the documents from your phone either. You also can’t go into the mortgage portal and open a document and try to chase bank customer support email back and do something. The app signs you out instantly. The reps even mentioned how terrible it was. Anytime I use the app to look for tasks I have to close the app and re log in multiple times. The message your team function is completely useless. Our rep told us she doesn’t get a notice when we message through that method and to email her instead. Why the heck even put it there?! We also have been asked repeatedly to chase bank customer support email the same information over and over. According to the rep, they have tons of issues seeing our documents and they get “lost”. How reassuring. It’s only the biggest purchase I’ve ever made and all of my personal information. Y’all need to fix these issues. This app is bad.

Terrible Customer Service and App

First of all I rarely leave negative reviews, if my experience is less than satisfactory I will simply choose to leave no review rather than a negative one. That said the Chase bank as well as their app left me little choice. Let’s start with the app. For weeks I could not even use it because every time I tried signing in it would crash forcing me to use a cumbersome web browser for my mobile banking. Once the app started working san jose mineta airport a month and several updates later) I found it to have way less features and to be much less organized than any other banking app I have used. This alone was disappointing however their customer service is even worse which I find quite disturbing for an organization that handles ones finances. They seem to know very little of what they are doing as they misplaced several important documents that I had faxed them directly from a bank branch claiming they had not received them forcing me to spend hours sending them though several different formats. After this I call back only talk to a different representative to find out they had received the fax a week ago when I had sent it walmart near bangor maine. This alone was very frustrating but to make it worse customer service was very unfriendly and unhelpful which I found quite unprofessional for a banking institution. Sadly from my experience I would not recommend this app nor chase bank itself. Sorry

It's excellent, packed with technology

I have done a review of the chase app over a year ago and had a lot to gripe about. I hated the fact that you had to accept quickpays. I also hated the fact that you needed to login to conduct transactions after you used your finger print to get into your app. Both of these annoyances have been fixed with this update. I absolutely love the way chase deducts the money for Bill pays right on the spot. It makes your balances so much easier to manage. I love the freshness and the high-tech feel of the app. One area for improvement would be to allow a direct dialed phone call to a representative right from the app having already completed the authentication process. Also, allow the app to show images of all transactions, including deposits just like BOA does. Other than those 2, the app is perfect.
Update. I also love managing my brokerage account right through the app with the ability to move money quickly between my brokerage and checking account. This app is really the best of the best in the banking world.

Mortgage experience and mobile experience stink

I was a chase credit card customer and the app was always fine for what I needed. We’re currently going through the home loan process and your app is embarrassingly terrible. I can’t believe such a large bank has an app that can’t render on an iPhone. For two or three weeks we had someone listed in the app as part of our loan team and it wasn’t the correct rep. We kept reaching out to him with no response, come to find out that we got put with a different rep but the app doesn’t update that detail into the loan moves into a new status. What?! The screens are all tiny and you can’t zoom in!! You can’t download the documents from your phone either. You also can’t go into the mortgage portal and open a document and try to go back and do something. The app signs you out instantly. The reps even mentioned how terrible it was. Anytime I use the app to look for tasks I have to close the app and re log in multiple times. The message your team function is completely useless. Our rep told us she doesn’t get a notice when we message through that method and to email her instead. Why the heck even put it there?! We also have been asked repeatedly to upload the same information over and over. According to the rep, they have tons of issues seeing our documents and they get “lost”. How reassuring. It’s only the biggest purchase I’ve ever made and all of my personal information. Y’all need to fix these issues. This app is bad.

Terrible Customer Service and App

First of all I rarely leave negative reviews, if my experience is less than satisfactory I will simply choose to leave no review rather than a negative one. That said the Chase bank as well as their app left me little choice. Let’s start with the app. For weeks I could not even use it because every time I tried signing in it would crash forcing me to use a cumbersome web browser for my mobile banking. Once the app started working (about a month and several updates later) I found it to have way less features and to be much less organized than any other banking app I have used. This alone was disappointing however their customer service is even worse which I find quite disturbing for an organization that handles ones finances. They seem to know very little of what they are doing as they misplaced several important documents that I had faxed them directly from a bank branch claiming they had not received them forcing me to spend hours sending them though several different formats. After this I call back only talk to a different representative to find out they had received the fax a week ago when I had sent it originally. This alone was very frustrating but to make it worse customer service was very unfriendly and unhelpful which I found quite unprofessional for a banking institution. Sadly from my experience I would not recommend this app nor chase bank itself. Sorry

Chase Bank Phish Swims Past Exchange Email Protections

Threat actors are impersonating Chase Bank in two phishing attacks that can slip past Microsoft Exchange security protections in an aim to steal credentials from victims &#; by spoofing real-life customer scenarios.

Researchers from Armorblox recently discovered the attacks, one of which claims to contain a credit card statement, while the other informs users that their online account access has been restricted due to unusual login activity, according to a post on the Armorblox blog posted Tuesday.

The first set of emails went out to 9, inboxes in an Armorblox customer&#;s environment and the other reached 8,, Preet Kumar, senior manager of customer success at Armorblox, wrote in the post.

Both attacks managed to bypass two Microsoft Exchange security protections&#;Exchange Online Protection (EOP) and Microsoft Defender for Office (MSDO)&#;on their way to customer inboxes, she said.

&#;These email attacks employed a gamut of techniques to get past traditional email security filters and pass the eye tests of unsuspecting end users,&#; Kumar wrote.

In the first scenario, threat actors sent an email titled &#;Your Credit Card Statement Is Ready&#; with the sender name &#;JP Morgan Chase&#; with HTML stylings similar to genuine emails sent from Chase, according to the report. The email included links for the victim to see their statement and make payments.

&#;Microsoft assigned a Spam Confidence Level (SCL) of &#;-1&#; to the email, which meant it skipped spam filtering because Microsoft determined that the email was from a safe sender, to a safe recipient, or was from an email source server on the &#;IP Allow&#; list,&#; Kumar wrote in the report.

The links take potential victims to a phishing page that resembles the Chase login portal and asks for their banking account credentials, she said. Researchers surmised that the URL for the page was likely purchased and hosted using NameSilo, which provides hosting, email and SSL solutions to customers.

&#;Services like this are beneficial for millions of people around the world, but unfortunately also lower the bar for cybercriminals looking to launch successful phishing attacks,&#; Kumar observed.

Chase Customer Care Scam

The other phishing attack begins with an email titled &#;URGENT: Unusual sign-in activity&#; and claimed that the sender was  &#;Chase Bank Customer Care,&#; Kumar said.

The email included a link that claimed to be for customers to verify their account to restore access and used a common tactic by scammers to use different &#;from&#; and &#;reply-to&#; addresses.

As with the other email, clicking on the link would lead to a phishing page that would try to get users to type in their credentials, according to the post. However, in this case, the page already was inactive by the time researchers investigated the campaign, they said.

The account-verification email also eluded Exchange detections and was deemed safe with a &#;1&#; rating on the Spam Confidence Level, Kumar noted.

How to Spot Phishing Emails

However, there are some clear telltale signs that both emails are suspicious if receivers of such messages know what to look out for, researchers said, outlining them in the post.

They include the aforementioned use of different &#;reply-to&#; and &#;from&#; addresses; the use of a page that looks like it&#;s legitimately from Chase but with a URL that does not match the company&#;s website name; and a security theme that requires someone to fill in private security details by taking secondary action, they said.

&#;Since we get so many emails from service providers, our brains have been trained to quickly execute on their requested actions,&#; Kumar wrote. &#;It&#;s much easier said than done, but engage with these emails in a rational and methodical manner whenever possible.&#;

The attacks are not the first time Chase customers have been targeted in phishing attacks, and it likely won&#;t be the last. The bank was one of several&#;including Royal Bank of Canada and TD Bank&#;targeted in an SMS phishing campaign revealed in February that used bogus security text messages to target users of online banking apps.
